28 Best Apps That Give You Free Gift Cards

In this post, I’m going to show you how to find the best app for free gift cards. In fact, I’ve used several of these apps to get free gift cards for myself.

All of my favorite ones are free to download and easy to use. Let’s dive into the list of apps.

Find The Best App For Free Gift Cards

Earn Free Gift Cards With These Apps

I love money making apps. That’s why I have rounded up 30 safe and useful apps that give you gift cards for doing daily mundane tasks like taking photos, completing surveys, scanning receipts, watching entertaining videos, surfing the web, or even just unlocking your phone.

If you’re wondering which is the best app for free gift cards, judge for yourself after going through this list.

1. AppNana

This app discovery platform rewards you “Nanas” when you download and try their promoted apps. It’s as easy as simply downloading and opening some apps to earn points. You will get 400 points just for visiting the site daily.

For higher-paying apps, you may have to perform a task within the app. For instance, you may have to play a mobile game and reach a certain level to earn points.

You won’t get bored as their app selection is always changing. But of course, there’s only a certain amount of apps/games to try at a time.

You can invite friends to this free gift card app. You will receive a percentage of the pie with each of your referral’s actions. If you have a big social media audience, you can earn as much as $300 from referrals alone!

Check out this cool app, go to AppNana on your iPhone or touch. It gives apps like Angry Birds, and Fruit Ninja for free. You can also get free $5, $10, and $15 iTunes, and Amazon Gift Cards as rewards. Input my invitation code c31123490 so we both can get 2,500 points.

Redeem your “Nanas” for:

  • Amazon,
  • Xbox,
  • iTunes,
  • and Google Play gift cards from as low as $1 (1000 Nanas).

2. Bing

If you are already searching the web with Bing Search Engine or downloading apps from the Microsoft Store often, Bing Rewards is a fun and straightforward way to monetize your use of the internet. It’s Bill Gates’s company, so it’s LEGIT!

And you’re not limited to PC; Bing has also joined the mobile craze with its iOS and Android apps. Apps allow you to earn on the go.

To earn points, use the app the same way you would your laptop. Each activity will earn you points that you can redeem for

  • gift cards,
  • sweepstakes entries,
  • and nonprofit donations.

You will get 5 points for every search and 1 point per dollar when shopping from the Microsoft Store.

Promotional offers and daily quizzes will give you additional bonus points. You can use the points to redeem Microsoft Store credit that allows you to buy

  • premium games,
  • movies,
  • music,
  • and Microsoft software.

There is no minimum amount to cash out since you can redeem your points towards Microsoft purchases.

If you are looking for an easy way to earn by searching the web, look no further than Bing Rewards. Just ensure you log in to your Microsoft account.

3. CheckPoints

CheckPoints is another of my favorite platforms to make easy money. The app will reward you for using your smartphone and shopping online. It is similar to Shopkick.

While there are many other ways to earn with Checkpoints, scanning barcodes of featured products, visiting particular stores, and buying items are the easiest ways to earn points.

  • Target,
  • Amazon,
  • and Walmart gift card redemptions start at a dollar.

It’s always a good thing when the minimum points to cash out are low.

To earn even more gift cards, free gas cards, and shopping sprees, you can take advantage of regular in-app giveaways. You will have to part with 50-250 points to enter, but you can earn as much as 50k points rewards!

If online shopping is your thing, use CheckPoints to earn free gift cards today!

4. Google Opinion Rewards

One of the things that you often have to watch out for when trying to earn gift cards is that the website is a legitimate resource. The last thing you want to do is spend your time and attention on something only to find out that it does not payout on the rewards like it says it does.

One such website that you won’t have to worry about is Google. Google is very straightforward in all things that they do. If you want to get involved in the Google Opinion Rewards, you can sign up and start earning today.

When you use the Google Opinion Rewards, you can complete short surveys, and you will get Google Play or PayPal credit each time you complete one. The amount you get will vary based on the survey you complete and the amount of information and time that is asked of you.

The Google Opinion Rewards will ask your opinion about things like hotels or even products that you have purchased in the past. To make sure that you don’t miss any opportunities to earn money, Google notifies you when the survey is available for you to take.

For a simple and straightforward app that can earn you gift cards, Google Opinion Rewards is a great choice.

5. FreeMyApps

Another app that pays you for downloading and trying out new games and apps on iOS and Android is FreeMyApps

If you’re wondering whether they are legit, as of this article, FreeMyApps has paid out over $27 million worth of gift cards to members.

And it’s not a small, unstable app. FreeMyApps will ask you to download and try quality and big apps like Plants Vs. Zombies, Infinity Blade II, etc.

While most people play such games for free, you’ll get paid to play them!

When you download and try an app for at least 30 seconds, you will earn credits. You can redeem the credits for gift cards once you accumulate $5 worth of them.

FreeMyApps has a short video about how it works, which you should watch before you decide to give it a try.

There are 50+ different gift cards to choose from, including

  • Google Play,
  • iTunes,
  • Hulu Plus,
  • and Amazon.

6. Fronto

Did you know that the lock screen on your smartphone, the one that displays time and weather when you press the power button without unlocking it first, can give you free gift cards?

Fronto may be the best app for free gift cards for locking your phone screen!

All you have to do is swap out whatever you have on your lock screen, whether it’s your wedding portrait, a picture from your trip to the beach, or the default wallpaper, with news and ads by Fronto.

You can have coupons, the latest new apps, flash deals, and trending articles on your lock screen.

Fronto works like most lock screen rewards apps. Swipe left to engage with the ad, and right to unlock your phone.

When you view the ads, you will earn points that you can redeem for a free Amazon gift card once you have hit $10 worth of points. To help you increase your earnings, Fronto will occasionally ask you interactive questions and give you money, between $0.1-$2 per interaction.

With over 9 million total downloads and $5 million in rewards paid out to members, you’re sure to get your money.

7. Honey

If you already spend hours of your time shopping online, then add Honey Extension to your list of best apps for free gift cards! It will help you get cashback and save money when shopping online.

It has helped members get $126 yearly average savings.

This free Chrome Extension will give you promo codes when you make any purchase through the web browser. With over 10 million members and counting, and over 142k Chrome Store reviews, if you’re not using Honey, you’re missing out!

So how does it work? Let’s say you’re shopping for a graphic tee on Old Navy. When you get to the site, and there is a cashback available, Honey will send you a notification to activate it.

The app will automatically try to find a working coupon code for Old Navy as well, meaning you will save twice by using coupon codes and getting cash back.

To earn, install the extension and shop from your favorite stores. There are 30k+ participating merchants.

When you get cashback points or “Honey Gold,” you can redeem them once they hit 1000 worth a $10 gift card of your choice.

Referring your friends to Honey will earn you 500 points.

8. Ibotta

Just like many rewards apps on this list, Ibotta offers many different ways to earn points.

What makes Ibotta unique is that it focuses mainly on groceries, though they are expanding to other fields like liquor stores, movie theaters, pet stores, home improvement centers, and pharmacies. Ibotta now works with 300+ online retailers.

You get rewards for purchasing specific items and uploading a quick pic of them. Skip the receipt upload process and be paid automatically within two days if you link your store loyalty card.

You can exchange your rewards for gift cards from major retailers such as

  • Home Depot,

  • iTunes,
  • and dozens more.

Incorporating Ibotta to your grocery shopping routine is little work that can help you accumulate cash quickly over time.

If you love saving money with coupons but detest the idea of carrying them around and clipping them, Ibotta could be the best app for free gift cards for you.

9. InboxDollars

InboxDollars is another cool platform that will reward you for doing pretty much anything online. It is the best alternative to Swagbucks.

Brands hire InboxDollars for consumer input. InboxDollars features a plethora of retailers like Walmart, Target, Netflix, and many more to give you a robust platform of earning opportunities.

It enlists consumers like you to do online activities like

10. InstaGC

InstaGC is another rewards app that’s 100 percent free to join and use.

If you don’t mind completing online activities, install instaGC to join their fast-growing community.

11. iPoll

Do you enjoy voicing your opinions? iPoll is an excellent way to earn gift cards by completing surveys.

What sets iPoll apart from other survey apps is that it sends you specialized location-based surveys.

Whenever you’re out and about, using your smartphone, you can pin your location to get surveys and tasks based on your location.

You will earn $0.4-1.5 per survey. Save up to $10 to redeem Amazon or iTunes gift cards.

You can fill out surveys and get free gift cards when you’re traveling, at the dentist’s office, eating out at your local diner, at the airport or running daily errands. If there are a lot of businesses near your location, expect more offers.

As a member, you can use some points to take part in the $10k quarterly prize draw. I recommend iPoll if you are always on the move and won’t mind answering a few questions in exchange for free gift cards.

12. Lucktastic

If you love scratching lottery tickets, Lucktastic could be the best app for free gift cards for you. This app lets you play games that are in more ways than one similar to scratch-off lottery tickets.

Every day, you will receive a couple of tickets to scratch, and you will earn 5-10 points per scratch-off. Don’t worry; doing this will only take a minute or two of your time.

You can save your points and redeem them for cash or gift cards from 30+ major brands and retailers like

  • Fandango,
  • Amazon.

The minimum amount to cash out is $10. With over $3 million in prizes given out to members, it’s your chance to take your slice of the pie.

You will earn random rewards for viewing ads in the background. It gets better. There’s always a chance to win a cool $10,000 jackpot!

With over 1 million winners to date, you could be next! Check their website to see photos of past winners.

If you fancy the thrill of playing without actually buying real lottery tickets, try Lucktastic.

13. Mobee

Mobee will turn you into a mystery shopper. You will be sent on a “mission” to visit specific restaurants and retail stores, shop or eat there, and share your experience.

You might need to snap photos or answer a few survey questions. A mission lasts between 10-15 minutes, the ideal time to finish your dining or shopping.

Tasks are worth $1.5-$12, with the longest ones having higher rewards.

Every mission you complete brings you a step closer to claiming new achievements and earning more points. The team will then review your task in 48 hours and credit points upon approval.

When you refer a friend, and their first in-store mission gets approved, both of you will earn 300 points!

The minimum amount you can cash out is $5, and you can redeem gift cards from

  • Starbucks,
  • Walmart,
  • Dunkin’ Donuts,
  • eBay,
  • Target,
  • Best Buy,
  • and many more.

If you feel generous, you can donate your earnings to a charity of your choice.

If you live in the city or busy neighborhood and enjoy shopping or running errands, I can recommend Mobee as you will have more opportunities to complete missions. How about hunting kicks with Shopkick while at it?

14. MyPoints

Owned by the same company that owns Swagbucks, MyPoints has been rewarding members since 1996!

While it started as an online shopping cashback program, over the years, MyPoints has added activities that can enable you to earn points. You can get points for

  • reading emails,
  • shopping online,
  • getting alerts,
  • searching the web,
  • watching videos,
  • testing products from home,
  • etc.

It works like Swagbucks, but it is easier to earn points in MyPoints. Why not sign up for both programs to double up your points and make more?

If you travel a lot, you will be glad to know that MyPoints has partnered with several travel companies to enable you to redeem your points for travel miles.

By booking your travel via MyPoints, you can also earn points. It’s a win-win situation.

If you don’t travel, you can still exchange your points for a free Amazon gift card. As a new member, claim the $10 sign up bonus when you register your account.

However, you need to first buy items worth $20 through the MyPoints portal to earn this bonus.

The number of points is dependent on the length of the survey. Expect 50-600 points per survey. Every profile question you answer earns you 5 points and every referral 750 points.

You need a minimum of 480 points to cash out a $3 gift card.

MyPoints is available on all platforms.

15. Panel Pay Day

Panel Pay Day is an exciting app that you can earn from participating in focus groups, completing surveys, and doing mystery shopping.

Many rewards apps tend to be aesthetically disorganized and confusing to navigate, but not Panel Pay Day. This app features a clean, functional interface that pleases the eyes.

After signing up, which will take you very little of your valuable time, you can instantly start earning $25-$75 per survey!

Expect to get 2-4 survey invitations each month covering various topics.

16. Points2Shop

Don’t let the name fool you, while Points2Shop rewards you for online shopping; you can also earn virtual points by performing wide-ranging online activities like

  • completing offers,
  • doing paid surveys,
  • playing games,
  • and much more.

The app lets you do all these activities on the go. Thanks to their generous sign-up bonus, you can earn 250 points or $2.5 on registration.

For a free Amazon gift card, you need a minimum of $50 to cash out. While it can take you a while to reach this amount, you can use the gift card to purchase any item on Amazon.

Besides gift cards from your favorite stores, you can exchange your points for big-ticket items.

In case of any issue, you will appreciate the responsive support by site, IM, and Shoutbox.

Points2Shop is available on both Android and iOS.

17. PrizeRebel

PrizeRebel gives you points for the basic activities you see on most rewards sites

  • watching videos,
  • taking surveys,
  • signing up for offers with participating companies,
  • and completing daily challenges.

The app is easy to use and has a low payout threshold, so include it to your daily gift-card-earning app rotation.

After signing up (which will only take you a few seconds) and completing a task, points will be credited to your account instantly.

You can exchange your points for rewards and free gift cards from

  • eBay,
  • CVS,
  • Amazon,
  • Walmart,
  • Burger King,
  • iTunes,
  • and Starbucks.

The minimum amount you need to redeem is 500 points, which are worth $5.

Since its inception in 2007, PrizeRebel has paid out over $19 million in free gift cards and prizes.

18. Rakuten

Rakuten, formerly Ebates, is the best app for free gift cards for me! I’ve been using this app for years.

You already shop online, so why not get paid for it?

Retailers pay Rakuten a commission for sending you their way, and the app shares the commission with you in the form of gift cards and cashback.

Arguably the largest cashback site, Rakuten is one of the best ways to get paid to shop online. Unlike Ibotta, you can earn gift cards only when you shop online.

To earn gift cards, create your account (you get a $10 free Walmart gift cards) and use the Rakuten Portal to search through the usual sites you shop. Make purchases and use coupons you may have.

After completing a purchase, you will get a percentage of the items you purchase, up to 10 percent. After hitting the $25 threshold, pick whatever gift card works for you.

19. ReceiptHog

If you don’t mind a tiny bit of extra work during your regular shopping or daily errands, ReceiptHog is another easy way to make some extra money.

The app will turn your everyday receipts into a free Amazon gift card.

All you have to do is download the ReceiptHog app from Google Play Store or App Store, and take a photo of your receipts every time you shop.

It doesn’t matter where you shop or what you buy, as long as you upload your receipts.

The minimum payout amount is 1000 coins, which are worth $5.

You may be wondering how the app can afford to pay you for completing such a small task. Well, ReceiptHog uses the receipts you snap pictures of for market research.

And don’t worry, your private info is safe as the collected data is anonymous according to them.

When you purchase and upload pictures of big-ticket items, you will get a more substantial coin bonus. You don’t have to spend a lot to earn more.

Once you become a regular, ReceiptHog will give you access to more ways to earn coins – primarily feedback questionnaires and surveys.

You can also link your Amazon account to earn more coins when you shop on the site.

20. Slidejoy

We all unlock and check our phones constantly. Slidejoy is yet another app in the lock screen reward category.

What I love most about this category is that it’s the most passive. You can make money just by using and checking your phone.

Watching ads can be annoying, but you do it every day. As a lock screen advertiser, Slidejoy partners with various brands to present to you relevant and quality ads or trending news.

You will see the ads every time you press the power button when your screen is off.

To engage with the ad, slide to the left. Slide up to see another promo. If you have to read an urgent text, slide to the right to unlock your smartphone.

Regardless of which side you swipe, you’ll get the same payment, how cool is that?

You asked, and they listened. Slidejoy recently began offering surveys and promotions to help you earn even more “Carats.”

You can redeem them for gift cards once they reach 2k. There is also an option to donate to your preferred charity.

If you still have the default wallpaper in your background, install Slidejoy to earn points every time you unlock your phone.

Unfortunately, Slidejoy is currently available for Android users only.

21. Survey Junkie

Unlike other survey apps that offer members multiple income streams, Survey Junkie is an exclusive paid online survey site. You won’t be overwhelmed with options like trying apps or watching various videos for a few bucks.

The site has been around since 2005 and boasts over 3 million members.

This simple, easy to navigate app will pay for completing questionnaires. Sharing your opinion will help brands deliver better products and services.

You can begin answering surveys immediately after signing up! Every survey indicates the estimated completion time and payout.

On completion, your account will receive the points.

You need points worth $10 (1000 points) to redeem your rewards.

The selection of gift cards I saw is impressive.

22. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a multi-purpose reward app, and in my opinion, the best app for free gift cards.

It is well-known for a good reason – it pays well for things you already do online. Activities can include

  • shopping online,
  • searching the web,
  • answering surveys,
  • watching sponsored videos,
  • and playing games.

There are a handful of ways you can earn using Swagbucks. The more the SB points you accumulate, the more the gift cards you can collect.

You can exchange your points for gift cards from big-name retailers like

  • eBay,
  • Bath & Body Works,
  • Walmart,
  • Starbucks,
  • Steam,
  • and many more.

While most gift cards start for as little as 100 SB points ($1), some start at $3.

The different ways to earn points can overwhelm you, and you can get yourself spending too much of your valuable time adding up points.

I recommend you find at most three different point-earning activities to make the process effortless. Focus on the ones that fit seamlessly into what you’re already doing online.

If you want to earn points doing the usual online activities, sign up in less than 5 minutes and get a quick $10 registration bonus.

Swagbucks is available on Web, Android, and iOS platforms. You can learn more about Swagbucks here.

23. Toluna

Toluna is a giant survey platform with a large online community of like-minded individuals.

The app has partnered with big brands like

  • Expedia,
  • CBS,
  • Sony Music,
  • and Disney

to offer you rewards for testing products, completing polls and surveys, and interacting with the Toluna community.

You won’t make much with Toluna– but it’s an easy $15-20 extra dollars if you sign up, fill out your profile, refer a few friends, and curate quality content. You need at least $5 worth of points to request gift cards.

If you enjoy connecting with other members in an active community and airing your opinion on different topics, Toluna is the app for you.

24. Viggle

With Viggle, you don’t have to go out of your way at all. You get rewarded for interacting with all your favorite entertainment. It’s a dream come true, right?

Viggle syncs with whatever you’re watching and sends you trivia questions.

To earn “check-in” to movies and shows live on TV or streaming platforms like

  • Hulu,
  • Netflix,
  • and Amazon Prime Video.

Every few minutes, you’ll be required to interact with Viggle to confirm that you’re still watching.

You will earn Perk Points, which you can exchange for 800+ free gift cards from your favorite stores. The app sometimes promotes more shows, and watching such shows means more points.

You can additionally earn more points by participating in Streaks and Quests.

25. Shopkick

This intuitive, rewards deals app turns your store visits into a super fun scavenger points hunt or “kicks.” Shopkick is easy to use and to earn gift cards.

You will just do the usual stuff you do when shopping. To get cashback on your purchases, first, link your debit or credit card to Shopkick.

Download the app, turn your location services on, walk into a partner store (such as CVS and Target), and scan featured product barcodes.

If you tag your kids along, you could turn it into a fun family scavenger hunt.

Two hundred fifty kicks equal $1. You can earn between $0.25-$1.5 for each activity. Watch in-app videos while waiting in line to receive more kicks.

The money can add up quickly if you shop in a mall with multiple promoted stores.

Once you accumulate enough kicks ($5), you can exchange them for gift cards from your favorite stores, including

  • Amazon,
  • Best Buy,
  • American Eagle,
  • Target,
  • Sephora,
  • AMC,
  • and Walmart.

How much you earn varies by store visits. Shopkick users have earned $85 million in free gift cards!

Shopkick has a vibrant and active social media community of like-minded individuals in case you need handy tips and deals that will help you increase your kicks.

Another cool thing about this app is that you can use it together with other shopping rewards apps in this to get more rewards.

26. IPSOS i-Say Mobile

IPSOS needs no introduction. The popular online survey rewards community analyzes the opinion of the public, especially on matters related to news, politics, brands, advertising, entertainment, and other contentious topics on the national level.

The revolution of smartphones forced the survey site to design a mobile app that lets you complete surveys on the go.

You will receive approximately eight survey invitations per month, which you can either accept or deny.

After completing each survey, you will receive i-Say points that you can trade for gift cards from various stores, including

  • Amazon,
  • iTunes,
  • Target,
  • and Starbucks.

As one of the best highest paid surveys, you can earn up to $60 per survey! The minimum amount to redeem is 500 points, which is equivalent to $5.

Entering a raffle to win prizes will cost you 250 points.

If you enjoy expressing your opinions on a survey, download the IPSOS i-Say app today and join 3 million members celebrating the power of voice!

27. SavingStar

This digital coupon app will pay you to shop at drugstores and grocery stores. Over 100 retail chains and 60k stores are part of SavingStar.

You can buy at many different retailers, including

  • Target,
  • Kroger,
  • Walmart,
  • CVS,
  • Stop & Shop, etc.

SavingStar currently has 7 million shoppers. The app works like Ibotta. You can find deals you like and purchase to earn points — no clipping, printing, or mailing.

Instead of submitting receipts after making purchases, link your existing store loyalty cards to the SavingStar app.

Your savings will accumulate, after which you can cash out in the form of

  • iTunes,
  • AMC Theater,
  • or Starbucks gift cards.

While the app is free to use, if your account is idle for three straight months, you will be fined $3.99. The way I see it, this is a reminder to shop and earn!

28. Points Prizes

Points Prizes is yet another GPT app that gives you gift cards for various online activities, including

  • watching videos,
  • playing web games,
  • taking daily polls,
  • completing surveys,
  • and participating in promo offers.

The free gift cards app claims to have over 10k different to earn points live at a time, and the ever-growing members (16.7million as of this article) are proof of this claim.

Once you reach $20 worth of points, you can redeem them for 40+ different gift cards.

Points Prizes are available on all platforms.

The Best App For Free Gift Cards

That was quite a list, huh? Congratulations for reading this far! Hopefully, you found some exciting rewards apps on the list and learned how to get free gift cards.

We covered five different types of GTP mobile apps: survey, lock screen, app discovery, shopping, and multi-purpose apps. I downloaded, tried, and tested every individual app, so I can confidently say that they all work as advertised.

While each of the apps in our list works a little differently, they all have something in common – helping you earn gift cards so you can save on groceries or buy yourself something nice. It’s supposed to be fun!

Over to you

Make it a point never to pay full price when you shop. Free gift cards are not hard to come by if you know the best apps to use to earn them.

Instead of trying to use them all, pick 3-5 apps, and be consistent with them. Stick to this list to avoid scam apps that will refuse to pay or wipe your account clean.

If you have to use an app, not in this list, be smart and go through the users’ reviews first. Most users are brutally honest when they review apps and raise concerns if the app doesn’t live up to its promises.

What are your favorite ways to save money on shopping? In your opinion, is the best app for free gift cards? What other rewards apps do you use that give free gift cards?
